Some days the plants hold you. It’s not a metaphor if you’ve felt it — the way the garden becomes a room, the way the leaves lean in when you’re crying, the way sitting under a tree can do what a whole conversation couldn’t.
I stitched this piece the way I imagine that embrace feels. The threads move around the figure, not through her — she’s cradled, not consumed. The palette is warmer than a lot of my work; it’s the green of the shade tree at 3pm when the day has finally cooled enough to breathe.
For collectors who use their home as a soft place to land, this piece deepens that. Living rooms and bedrooms are its natural habitat.
This piece is part of Embroidered x Nature, my current collection of hand- stitched botanical portraits.
